LIKE A PROUD SENTINEL to the area’s noble anti-slavery past, the Fussell House is clearly visible as you travel on East Baltimore Pike into the heart of Kennett Square.
Located at 719 East Baltimore Pike, as the satellite image below shows, the Fussell House is perfectly situated between historic Kennett Square and Longwood Gardens, which are just two of the cultural attractions in this region known as the Brandywine Valley. It’s important to note that this building is currently privately owned and as far as I’m aware is not open to the public. Save The Fussell House does not recommend, encourage or endorse anyone to trespass onto this property. The Marriott Hotel, on the other hand, is adjacent to The Fussell House and is open to the public. The Fussell House stands as a very visible
“gateway” structure to both the Township and the Borough of Kennett Square. Other destinations of historical interest include:
The Brandywine River Museum Winterthur Museum Brandywine Battlefield Hagley Museums & Gardens The Auburn Heights Preserve The Harriet Tubman Mural Kennett Underground Railroad Center |
